The modern incarnation of matcha sticks, or matcha on the go, is not something new at all. Very early on in the development of tea, the leaves were baked and molded into "cakes". These were created so that the tea could be easily stored and transported. When tea time came around, all one needed to do was break off a small piece of the tea-cake, pummel it into powder, add hot water stir with a bamboo whisk. Looks like tea-to-go is something we have craved since the beginning!Questions and Answers
