Herbal Tea Characteristics and Benefits

Herbal teas (tisanes) are crafted from quality herbs, flowers, fruits, and spices, typically with minimal processing to preserve their natural character, colours in the cup, and layered flavours. Depending on ingredients and origin, they can be juicy and fruity, clean and herbaceous, tangy and bold, or smooth and gently sweet. Many herbal blends contain naturally occurring antioxidants, and they’re often chosen as a comforting way to hydrate - whether you’re after something uplifting, soothing, or simply delicious.

Loose, Bagged and Iced

Our herbal teas are available in loose leaf form, with selected favourites also offered in pyramid tea bags and iced-tea pouches. For easy sampling, our herbal tea sampler includes single-serve loose leaf portion packs, making it simple to brew at home, at work, or wherever the day takes you.

Do loose-leaf herbals contain caffeine?

Most loose leaf herbal teas are naturally caffeine-free. The main exception is yerba mate blend Samurai Mate, which does contain caffeine and typically provides around 70-80 mg per cup (about 250 ml). If you’re avoiding caffeine, we recommend skipping mate-based herbals.

How long should loose-leaf herbal tea be steeped?

Steep loose leaf herbal teas for 5-10 minutes in freshly boiled water (100°C). For a stronger, fuller brew, steep a little longer; for a lighter cup, reduce the time slightly.
